About Center of Art and Science
  • MUNTREF Centro de Arte y Ciencia was established in 2010 at TECNÓPOLIS, Buenos Aires, with the aim of sharing with the community some of the questions, the research, and the transdisciplinary projects that inspire the exploration of artists and researchers on the interaction between artistic languages, scientific enquiries, artificial intelligence proposals, biology, environment, neurosciences, trans-modal correspondences, and health.

As a research centre, it provides a dynamic space in which a wide range of enquiries and ways of expanding the boundaries of knowledge are promoted through transdisciplinary projects and research teams made up of artists, scientists, professors and students from the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF).

MUNTREF, a laboratory museum and node for the conception and promotion of the development of artistic-scientific proposals, also operates in collaboration with external researchers and institutions and centres that share the goal of reaching beyond disciplinary boundaries to reflect with and between them.

The goals of MUNTREF Centro de Arte y Ciencia include:

    • To contribute to the consolidation of a transdisciplinary space for the development of projects in the field of science, art and technology.
    • To promote the space as a Laboratory Museum with the purpose of fostering outreach activities for the community through exhibitions, in-person and virtual workshops, and public programmes.
    • To develop a virtual platform that will help visitors to interact with the content in a simple and playful way, as a form of exploration for anyone interested and without the need for expert knowledge
    • To incorporate students from different UNTREF courses into research and transfer teams
    • To develop proposals of interest that connect institutions and establish cooperation with other centres and universities.
    • To promote topics of national and international interest.
